What to do in Provincetown
There’s a lot of history in Provincetown. Whether it’s crafting tie-dye shirts or competing in friendly games, this theme promises a celebration of summer fun and camaraderie.
Labor Day Weekend White Party (August 30)
Say goodbye to summer at the White Party, a cherished tradition since 1986, began as a casual summer gathering and evolved into a fundraiser benefiting Outer Cape Health Services, raising over $700,000 to date. It’s also where the Pilgrims first landed before heading to Plymouth, making it a place rich in history.
Girl Splash (July 23–26)
Ladies, get ready for Girl Splash! Comedy and cabaret shows, speakeasy socials, all-women’s whale watch cruises, sunset dune tours, live music concerts, pool parties, a clambake on the beach, a sunset champagne schooner sail, and a bunch of fun dance parties are among the gatherings to look forward to.
The LGBTQ bed-and-breakfast operates as a 4-star hotel with exceptional service and fantastic on-site amenities, including an outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi & sauna.
Beautifully decorated with chic modern design touches, the 7-room hotel is on a quiet street just a few minutes’ walk from a lot of the nightlife and action along Commercial Street.
Provincetown’s Spooky Bear is pure magic, with bars and clubs decked out for a hauntingly glamorous time.
Pro Tip: The Ghost Tours are a can’t-miss if you want to learn the town’s spooky history.

Why Provincetown Is an LGBTQ+ Hotspot
For decades, Provincetown has been a sanctuary for the queer community. Healing. Think sunset vibes, the best pop remixes, and cocktails like Planter’s Punch that guarantee you’ll walk away having made lifelong friends.
Pro Tip: Arrive early for the best spot near the dance floor and book accommodations in advance.

Also on the East End of Provincetown, the newly opened Stowaway Guesthouse offers a unique boutique bed-and-breakfast experience. It was the original landing spot for the pilgrim refugees on the Mayflower, so the town has always been intertwined in American History.
During this period, some key events do ratchet up the crowd factor, and it’s not uncommon for accommodations in town to require 7-night minimum stays. Book as far in advance as possible during this time. It’s a great place to start a night out.
One of Provincetown’s most iconic gay bars is A-House (short for Atlantic House).
Expect the streets to come alive with vibrant music, energetic dancing, and, of course, mouthwatering traditional Portuguese dishes.
Pro Tip: Sample some malasadas (Portuguese doughnuts)—they’re a must-try at the festival!
