That’s all well and good, but as a single gay, are you going to have much fun there? In fact, in the peak travel season – that is, the summer months – there are more gay visitors to Sitges than there are straight ones.

So, to say that Sitges is gay friendly is quite an understatement, as the many gay bars and clubs in town demonstrate.

The main (but by no means only) draw for gay tourists in Sitges is the collection of gay beaches.

Most famous for its red-light district and coffee houses selling a lot more than just a good brew (namely mushrooms and a certain “herb”), the “City of Sin” is also home to a vibrant gay scene, with a large pride parade called Amsterdam Pride every August.

Amsterdam is also home to the Homomonument, a poignant tribute in stone to all those of LGBTQ persuasion who have been persecuted because of their sexual orientation.

Yes, Gay Chicago might not be your first thought when considering gay hotspots in the USA where you can just be yourself, but after you have immersed yourself in the frenzied energy of the Boystown gaybourhood you will soon be wondering how the Windy City managed to keep its fabulousness under wraps for so long….

As the heart of the Chicago LGBT community, Boystown boasts everything from boutique shopping and trend-setting dining to alluring spas and irresistible after-hours entertainment in every form imaginable – and no Gay Chicago travel plans would be complete without at least one night out here.

Go if: You want stratospheric towers of glass that rise from the downtown muddled with capricious public art, a relaxing lakefront, and a cornucopia of world-class dining.

With an intoxicating mix of hedonism and religion, what’s not to love…

Gay Rome

Gay Rome is just one of those cities that everyone dreams of visiting.

Our gay Morocco tour takes us to beautiful ancient cities and modern metropolises; from the gorgeous coast to quaint remote towns on the far edges of the desert. Shop at colorful Andean markets and be carried away by native music on this LGBT Machu Picchu & Peru tour. Right,” or simply enjoy the freedom of traveling on your own.

We will spend time horseback riding through the hills of the Andes, hiking down into an extinct volcano crater, biking down the side of Cotopaxi Volcano, and much more. Here’s how it typically goes down:

  • Booking
When you book, choose the double occupancy option and indicate that you’re cool with having a roommate.

Have a backup plan ready and know where to seek help if needed.

How do roommate programs work for single travelers?

Roommate matching can be a lifesaver if you want to skip the single supplement fee. And if you’re lucky enough to be here in late May, don’t forget to check out MELT: Festival of Queer Arts and Culture, held at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Go if: You are looking for a hidden gay scene filled with welcoming people, culture and none of the pretense associated with its larger neighbours.

The monument consists of three main centerpieces: The Triangle of the Past, The Triangle of the Present, And the Triangle of the Future.

The memorial especially is intended to commemorate the LGBTQ folks who were victims of the Nazis. Hike through fields of wildflowers and tiny alpine hamlets, past waterfalls and alongside cold, clear mountain streams.

So popular, in fact, that it can get rather packed during the peak tourist season. Or if you want to experience what living in a world of total acceptance is like. The combination and contrast of 5-star elegance, exclusiveness, and wild African jungle mystique make for an unbelievable adventure you will never forget. I could not have asked for a better trip.” – Joshua L., Detours Traveler,11 Days in Greece

Whether it’s a hiking tour or a sunset dinner, these moments bring people together.

  • Balance Group Time and “Me” Time
It’s your trip, so make sure you’re getting a good mix of socializing and solo exploring. Think casual meetups, mixers, and maybe even a friendly game of poolside trivia.

  • Communal Dining
    No sitting alone here!

It’s also a great place for cruising, with several prime cruising spots.

With so much to offer gay tourists, it is easy to see why so many choose to come back to Ft. Lauderdale year after year. You’ll fill out a quick survey about your habits (early bird or night owl?) to help match you up with someone compatible.

  • The Match
You’ll get paired with another solo traveler of the same gender.
